OUR STORY

Founded in September 2019, <Qu|In|Soc> is a timely and exciting society that fuses the student community in this interdisciplinary and fast-growing field.

Oxford is a world-leader in developing quantum technologies and a centre of foundational quantum investigation. It has even been a source of quantum computing spin-out companies in recent years. Quantum information is a hugely interdisciplinary field, with research topics in physics, mathematics, computer science, materials science, engineering, chemistry, biology, philosophy and more.

<Qu|In|Soc> was founded to spread this quantum information knowledge so all Oxford students have the opportunity to become immersed in the field's fascinating ideas and opportunities. We bring together quantum information expertise from within and beyond Oxford. Through <Qu|In|Soc>, members from diverse backgrounds can discover links between their disciplines and create ideas for collaboration to push the field forward in the future.

The society gained over 100 registered members in its first term. We look forward to continuing to grow the quantum information community
